BIPOC Nursing Students’ Perceived Barriers to Help-Seeking When under Stress

Achieving diversity in the nursing workforce is dependent upon success of BIPOC students. Help-seeking an adaptive process that students can engage to facilitate success. Bachelor Science Nursing construct knowledge about barriers help-seeking based on their experiences. Method. This research was not meant provide a solution specific social problem but merely add theoretical experiences baccalaureate with when under stress. Therefore, qualitative descriptive design comprised semistructured interviews implemented. Results. The lack educators, absence campus diversity, and perpetuation microaggressions emerged as themes describe Conclusion. study results indicate need for ethnic racial amongst faculty faculty, staff, professional development programs implicit bias microaggressions.
